Reason: Awarded in recognition of his outstanding scientific contributions to our understanding of the pathophysiology of Asian diabetes and its complications. He also promoted application of Artificial Intelligence to improve diabetes care with smart technology. He has continuously contributed to AASD activities and nurtured many young health care professionals and researchers who are now becoming leaders in the field of diabetes.

Reason: Awarded in recognition of his outstanding scientific achievements in advancing our understanding of the signaling pathways regulating proliferation and function of pancreatic beta cells. His research has clarified the molecular mechanisms underlying the compensatory beta-cell response to insulin resistance and islet dysfunction.

Reason: Awarded in recognition of her outstanding scientific achievements in clarifying the phenotypic heterogeneity, rising incidence, comorbidities, and premature death of Chinese people with young onset diabetes by using the Hong Kong Diabetes Register, and for taking a leadership role in the Hong Kong Diabetes Surveillance Database study (HKDSD).
